Eludes to the #MeToo movement for teen stars and being left out of additional hiring opportunities for being a whistleblower. But the over arching story is of two very different teens from opposite sides of the world coming together and finding healing where they don't expect it, from someone they never anticipated.

Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage | Janelle Brown, Kody Brown, Meri Brown, Christine Brown, Robyn Brown

My daughter and I binged Sister Wives last year when she and my granddaughter were living with us. It was a great nightly ritual for us to unwind together after busy days. Since Christine's book just came out, I figured I'd start at the beginning before reading it.

Prairiegirl_reading Christine‘s book is pretty good! 4mo
TheBookgeekFrau @Prairiegirl_reading Good to know! This one is good, too. A lot of stuff from the show, with a bit of a deeper look into the start of the family. 4mo

When a young woman from a Dugger-esque family is facing down pregnancy and zero freedom, her opportunity is to burn the family to the ground and walk away from the ruins. Her alliance: a closeted classmate for the cameras, and regret filled reporter who survived a Waco-type situation. Essie has a plan as meticulous as the image her family wants. The story is complex without being obvious; Essie has more than one tough decision to make.

bookandbedandtea I was so impressed by Essie. 6mo
DrasticallyJill @bookandbedandtea me too, she was an incredible character. Liberty also had a really remarkable journey! 6mo

“Dead Famous“ is a sharp, funny, and ultimately disturbing look at the dark side of reality television and the lengths people will go to for fame. It‘s a thought-provoking commentary on a culture where entertainment often trumps human decency, and where the line between reality and fiction becomes increasingly blurred.

I've only known Kelly Osbourne from her song “Daddy don't preach“, but when I came along this book, the cover just spoke to me. And after reading it, I'd say I would like to be friends with Kelly. We wouldn't agree on everything, but I'm deeply impressed with her, her honesty, and her attitude. She's very, very honest and open in those letters, about herself, the showbiz, her family.

AnnCrystal Love that song 👏😎👍.

It was funny. My brother wasn't allowed to listen to the music of Ozzy Osbourne (Prince of Darkness). It wasn't just Ozzy, it was any heavy metal.

Years later, my brother must have been laughing from heaven because his whole family discovers “The Osbournes“ from their reality show and become fans 😂.

We also followed the Osbournes into the reality show, Ozzy & Jack's World Detour. Kelly Osbourne appears in season two.

Since I've finished my book for #BookishMonopoly yesterday evening, I made a new roll, and landed on “Chance“ again. So once again, I noted down all the books I have planned to read the next months and made a blind draw.

I got lucky, because I have planned Kelly anyway for later this month as part of my #roll100 rolls. Guess this book really wants to be read 😁

I wish I had a book club to read this with because there is much to discuss! This ended up being deeper and darker than I expected. I was impressed by both Essie & Roarke. She meticulously planned her future and, while she needed him to be able to pull it off, she saved him too. Every time we delved into Libby's backstory I was annoyed because it pulled us away from Essie's & Roarke's stories but I did understand that her history was important ⬇️

bookandbedandtea ⬆️ because it's how Essie knew she could trust her. I can't say much more without spoilers but I felt such a strong sense of betrayal by some of the characters and just wanted to hug Essie. Fortunately she knew what she needed. I was cheering for her, and Roarke, the whole time. 2y

Introducing House Arrest, a reality show where the general public are locked in a house for a couple of months for a prize of half a million pounds (basically the same format as Big Brother).

Day 27 starts like any other until one of the housemates is murdered live on the Internet feed. Whose responsible? The house is full of cameras so this has to be an easy plot to solve. Right?
