1. All things considered, I‘m feeling okay today.
2. Music always helps my mental health.
3. I‘m such a nerd, I listened to the LOTR soundtrack.

DebinHawaii I find I like “medieval lofi” when I‘m reading & songs from the LOTR soundtrack come up often. 🤗 1mo
Kerrbearlib Late response again. I LOVE the LOTR soundtrack! My husband is a huge LOTR fan. We played music from the soundtrack in our wedding. I get a little teared up when I hear The Shire now. Such beautiful music. 1mo

LoverOfLearning Been sick for a month and in a massive reading slump. Just started another round of antibiotics and steroids. Ick. I can't focus on read and can barely listen to an audiobook. Ugh. But yes music is essential to me. And my dad is a drummer in a small local band. :) 1mo

kspenmoll @LoverOfLearning I am so so sorry. I just am finishing up prednisone & antibiotics due a bronchitis infection. It‘s exhausting. Sending you healing love.💕 1mo
LoverOfLearning @kspenmoll similar for me! And you too hope you are finally starting to feel better! 1mo

Thanks for the #MentalHealthMonday tag @Kerrbearlib

1️⃣ Tired! Weird sleep last night & too many meetings today.

2️⃣ Yes, I use music to both relax & to feel happier.

3️⃣ 80s pop mostly, the sappier the better. My favorite playlist I named: “80s Sappy Makes Me Happy” (it‘s not all 80s-some 70s & 90s snuck in) but it‘s songs that bring back good memories & I like to sing along to. Linking below in comments. ⬇️

Anyone else want to share?

TiredLibrarian Nice playlist! That brings back some memories 🎵 1mo

I'm a third of the way through a 12-hour online conference: "The Future of the Person-Centred Approach: How to Serve a Changing World" and it's been by turns intense, dull and fascinating. A bit hard for my ADHD to maintain focus when people are rambling, despite being totally focused on another person is what I do for a living (or perhaps because of ?)

Bookwomble Taking a walk during the lunch break to clear my head and prepare for the next 9 hours!
Nobody's tried to sell me a book ... yet!

TrishB 12 hours online is a challenge to anyone‘s concentration! 2mo
merelybookish Online conferences are brutal. They suck up double the energy! Also, do love Carl Rogers. 2mo

Bookwomble @TrishB @merelybookish On a 15-minute tea break - it's being quite stimulating now (coffee and tea helping!) One of the speakers I was particularly wanting to hear is Peggy Natiello - she was a student of Carl Rogers and at 95 years old, still as sharp as a tack and as revolutionary and anti establishment as ever! ✊🏻 2mo
julesG Yay for tea!!! Enjoy the rest of the conference. 2mo
bibliothecarivs Is that a photo from your walk? Oh, how I wish I was in England today (and every day)! 1mo
Bookwomble @bibliothecarivs Yep - cracked pavements, damp weather, cold wind and all! 😄 1mo
Bookwomble @julesG I needed the tea! It was a good day's reflection and discussion 😊 1mo

"There is something I don't know
that I'm supposed to know.
I don't know what it is I don't know,
and yet I'm supposed to know,
and I feel stupid
if I seem both to not know it
and not know what it is I don't know.
Therefore I pretend to know it.
This is nerve-racking
since I don't know what I must pretend to know.
Therefore I pretend to know everything."

Trashcanman Hi Michael, I hope you‘ve been well. Lozano1830@gmail.com 3mo
Bookwomble @Trashcanman George!!! 😃 It's good to hear from you 😊 I have been as well as a curmudgeonly old man can admit to! How've you been? It would be good to see you active on Litsy again 💖 3mo
Trashcanman I don‘t think I will be active here again. Although I miss certain people. I don‘t feel like I contribute in any way to this community. I take away from its beauty. You were always nice to me. I always admired you, your intellect, your insight, and most of all your kindness. I don‘t know if you use email, but if you do I‘d love to have a correspondence with you. If not that‘s okay too. Life keeps being life and time keeps moving forward. 3mo
Bookwomble @Trashcanman Speaking for myself, I find Litsy an inclusive space, and one where your posts were welcome, and I would find them so again 😊 I'll email you soon 💖 3mo
Bookwomble @Trashcanman Just in case it arrives in your junk folder, a quick message to let you know I've sent you an email 😊 3mo

Psychotherapist R. D. Laing's poems are distillations of the emotional and psychological knots into which people tie themselves as their relationships entangle. I think I may like these 🧶❤️‍🩹🪢

An insightful and interesting read,it gives an understanding of how some people may have become so difficult, providing ways to protect yourself and your boundaries when dealing with these people. Offering ways to empower yourself to take control of your reactions and feelings towards them.A great read for anyone struggling to deal with people in their lives that they are finding difficult to handle.⭐⭐⭐⭐
