so-soHalfway between a pick and so-so. #onesitting read for #readharder challenge for sure! This novella starts Binti's travels to a university away from her home-- and away from Earth. I think the so-so -ness here was just in the nature of the novella-- not much space for world building (and I love me some world building in my sci fi).
5/5 for ohhhh shitttt 4/5 for main character and 5/5 for overall execution. Warning: if ants or other insects give you the heebie jeebies ya might want to avoid this book. Unless you purposefully want horror.
I'll admit the first 30 or so odd pages I thought it was going to be thriller trash and I was constantly double checking his ant facts. But then I relaxed about it and learned some cool stuff! #thriller #onesitting
