I was listening to Taylor Bradshaw‘s music all afternoon yesterday. I listened to the CD I ordered from him, streamed the album and watched the concert film. The bonus track is a cover song called “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” by Arctic Monkeys. Taylor Bradshaw is an independent folk musician from NYC. He doesn‘t have a record deal yet. I like all of his songs from the album but I think the cover song was my favorite.

TieDyeDude Thanks for sharing. I always love a good local band. You always hope for them to find success, but you also want to keep them close and pure 😋 1w

Pickpick

This was a fascinating memoir. Cole has a brain the size of a lemon in her brain, which went undiagnosed until her mid-twenties. Her struggle to adapt to life with, what she thought, were multiple learning disabilities would be tough to read if Cohen weren‘t so wry and engaging. It‘s worth the read for her perspective alone.

Third book for this month for #readyourkindle

Okay this book was frustrating. It is older then I realised so no doubt some research has moved on significantly. At times fascinating, at times subtly patriarchal (mostly he's progressive) and occasionally preachy.

As a carer for someone with dementia the very detailed breakdown into subsections of the 7 stages of it was sadly super accurate and informative I suspect of what to expect next.

@CBee

CBee My heart goes out to you - caring for someone with dementia is so difficult ♥️ 4w

Balibee146 Thanks @CBee and @Suet624 we are getting to the final parts of stage 6 / shifting towards final stage 7, so it's hard going practically and emotionally. **** Dementia! So thnaksful both my parents were mentally sharp until there last day and had a sudden crisis without protracted suffering but enough time for us to get to the hospital and be with them 💔💔 4w
Balibee146 Ach typos and the wrong "their".... Sorry!! 4w
CBee @Balibee146 bless you ♥️♥️ I‘ll be keeping you in my thoughts 🙏🏻 4w

I just found out that Linkin Park is dropping a new music video on Friday on their YouTube channel. It looks like it‘s another song off of their new album coming out in November.

Next up from my October #readyourkindle choices.

I just realised this book was published in 2010 so it may be a skim read or a bail depending.

For #tuesdaytunes, I spent my afternoon watching the MTV VMAs. I enjoyed it. I had it recorded on Fubo TV but it cut off towards the end before the last award was given out so I searched for it and streamed the last few minutes of it and I was able to finish watching it. I like watching the VMAs. It‘s usually a 3 hour show.

Yay! I ordered Taylor Bradshaw‘s new live album because I got early bird access to it. I‘m so excited. Now, I have a new album and a new concert film to look forward to as well as a bonus track. All I have to do is download and stream it. I‘ll be listening when I get a chance to. I ordered the deluxe edition of the album because it comes with more stuff. Taylor Bradshaw is an independent folk musician that I‘m supporting.

I‘m sharing this merch that I ordered from Taylor Bradshaw, an independent folk musician from NYC. He just made some new necklaces. One is a wildflower necklace with real wildflowers and the other is a Birch Leaf necklace made with real leaves. He hasn‘t been signed to a record label yet. I‘ve been supporting him for a while after I saw him advertising his music on Facebook and I feel really good about it.

#tuesdaytunes

kelli7990 He has a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. I just really like his vibe. I would like to support more independent musicians and help make their dreams come true but there‘s only so many hours in the day to listen to music and I might not like all of the music that I see being advertised on Facebook so I‘m being very selective about who I support. It‘s important to me that I genuinely like the musicians I‘m supporting. 2mo
TieDyeDude Very cool. It\'s nice when you can direct support an artist that is important to you. That\'s some unique merch, too! 2mo

I saw this on Facebook yesterday in my newsfeed and wanted to share it for #tuesdaytunes. I didn‘t know that Nirvana and RuPaul took a picture together.

CBee There‘s also a photo of Ru holding Frances, Kurt and Courtney‘s baby - it‘s a good one ♥️ 3mo

#TuesdayTunes

I normally listen to instrumental music when reading. I have created a few playlists for specific books. One where the MC was a musician & each chapter title was a song. And one series that features a fictional band that discuss a lot of music. But I have more playlists for writing than reading.

I always have music playing & listen to a bit of everything. But my faves are grunge, punk, 90s rock, & show tunes.

TieDyeDude Thanks for sharing. I feel like if I have something to block out, I can focus better on my reading. I used to tune in the radio to whatever station, but since we don't have a stereo set up so everything is streaming, I have to pick something, which is usually classical. 3mo
