bailed#unpopularopinion Oh how I wish the inside of the book was anywhere near as beautiful as the exterior. It has sprayed edges and exquisite end papers. The text? It did not work for me at all. The writing feels choppy and juvenile and I already dislike the MC. 😭
pickRecommended by my daughter. A fun spin on a familiar tale, with a dash of romance we all wished was in the movie. The only hiccup was that the story tended to go in circles, some repetition in conversations too. Otherwise I enjoyed it. 1/2 read on paper, 1/2 audio 🎧
I don't usually go for Disney things, and I know the story is twisted in their special way but this is a beautiful edition 😍
I found this copy of a folding (left to right) scroll book of the legend of Mulan while looking for poetry books for my niece 😍
Posting this here but I‘m selling this Goldsboro special edition of The Night Ends with Fire by K.X Song, it‘s never been read, I don‘t like or care for Romantasy, it‘s a Mulan retelling. My daughter shattered her phone and she needs it replaced but I don‘t have the extra money to do that and she needs a phone because of her Cheer activities

pickPeople have strong opinions about this one! While the author didn‘t distinguish her story inspired by Mulan from the Disney version as much as she likely wanted to, she did add a new twist to the dragons, a question about the price of ambition, and a love triangle. Occasionally dense but almost always entertaining, I enjoyed this book even if I can‘t say it was a great one. Reads more YA than adult but generally a quick, fun read. Soft pick.
My next read is inspired by Mulan and has a really gorgeous book design.
