Lovely series. Well written.
I‘m a sucker for series.
I have been enjoying Ariana Franklin‘s Mistress of Death historical mysteries. This one takes place during the progression of the 11 year old Princess Joanna from England to Palermo to wed William II. Adelia and Manseur have been sent by Henry II to insure her health, but they are being stalked by an evil presence from her past.
The only disappointment is that I‘m reaching the end of the series … one more to go.
I loved this, and yet the ending is nagging at me. It is billed as the final installment of the Mistress of the Art of Death series, completed by the original author‘s daughter. These were characters I‘d missed, the interesting settings and unusual mystery, even if I did guess the culprit pretty early. But there was nothing very final about the conclusion. Maybe Norman intends to continue her mother‘s series?
I was crushed when Ariana Franklin died, because the last book in the Mistress of the Art of Death series ended with a huge cliffhanger. Her daughter finished a stand alone that she had begun, but I‘d heard nothing else. So I was amazed to see this in my BookBubb email today! I don‘t think I‘ve ever hit the Amazon 1-click button that fast😄 Can‘t wait to read this.
I am beyond excited to get a final installment in this series. I was just devastated when I learned the author passed away. I am so glad that her daughter is carrying on her work. I can‘t wait to get my hands on this one!
There is always a thrill to getting books in the mail.
A stack of #yellowbooks looks so cheerful and happy summer is here (even if the books themselves are dark and twisty). #riotgrams
