That's Not My Name! | Anoosha Syed

Students could use this book to find what is important about their name. This can be done through research or through things that they think are significant about them to share with everybody. This could be a great getting to know your students activity.

Week 2: Picture Books! Great book for self confidence. It also stresses the importance of respect for others. Also shows the reasoning behind names and what makes them important to learn. Published July 12, 2022.

The family went to a nearby Turkish restaurant tonight. Starting bottom, left to right: beef and lamb kabob, beef kabob, and lamb in a pita. The bread was hot, fresh, soft, and delicious. A wonderful meal for #Turkey #foodandlit

I'm having social media blues. When I write a goodreads review it automatically tweets. Simple. My Twitter followers are few, but book people. On gr I see the option to share my review on Facebook, but my people there are not interested. I'm experimenting with Threads, but not satisfied. I like Twitter because I interact with authors/illustrators there. But I'm not happy with the current twitterverse. My review of this book is on goodreads.

I've been eating lunch from the tagged #Syria cookbook all week for #FoodandLit. As I am feeling too lazy to plate it properly, here is a picture of my many lunch containers. 😆

Itsch Salad – Bulgar Salad
Baklava (store bought)
Shorbat adas – Red Lentil Soup
Lob el kossa – Zucchini with Garlic and Mint
Foul ma‘ala – Fava Beans with Cilantro and Garlic
Zahra – Spicy Roasted Cauliflower

@Texreader, @Catsandbooks

WorldsOkayestStepMom I love baklava! I can't find it around me, so it's a special treat when I do get it. Enjoy!! 2y

Amina's Song | Hena Khan

Pickpick

Amina visits Pakistan and comes home to share the truth about it. A great middle grade novel that should be on all classroom shelves including those in Florida.

I figured that hubby wouldn‘t give me any books for Christmas, since my birthday gift last month included books. @Alisnazzy to the rescue, with this. Although there are lots of recipes, I‘m just as interested in reading about Persian food and traditions.

gossamerchild That cover is beautiful!
