pickThis had been loitering on my TBR for ages so I took it as meant to be when I spotted it available for loan on Libby. I really enjoyed this - it has very mixed reviews on GR but I think that could speak to a cultural hang up about religion & satanical practices (neither of which are examined particularly closely despite the main characters being a curate & a trainee satanic priestess).
Slice of life goodness, absolutely mad characters & banter!
I had high hopes for this since it was from the same creator as Giant Days. The material wasn‘t really my thing, though. Priests versus devil worshippers and supernatural sea people... I‘d rather reread the delightful collegiate adventures of the Giant Days friends. 💗
pickI don‘t understand the Church of England. How can it seem so chill and have state sanction at the same time? It‘s confusing. Steeple doesn‘t clarify anything, but it‘s kinda fun.
Was just talking to my spouse wishing there were more monthly comics I‘m really excited about, and then I found out about John Allison‘s new project! Charlotte Grote has been framed for murder, and needs to find a way to clear her name. Lottie is one of my favorite characters from any comic, and the best possible choice for his next MC. Issue one will be out in just a few weeks, and I cannot wait.
pickI really loved this novel. It's not the usual story of mermaids, but the story of a merman. Loved the way the author describes. You can feel every little detail. Towards the end, the story reminded me of Twilight, but it wasn't exactly the same. Very original storyline which captivates the reader. Will definitely read the next one.
I'm also currently reading this book. First time reading this author. I'm on page 105, and so far I LOVE it!!!
