This is a book by the author of Radar Girls, which I read for #LiteraryCrew. It‘s very good and takes place in 1943 WWII Hawaii and in 1965 bell-bottom Hawaii. Recommended.

Picked this book up for my first #LiteraryCrew and it's the first book up in 2026. It is cold, and I feel absolutely no want to be productive today. Perfect day to curl up with a book and do nothing else....until the kids get bored with the Lego! 😆

Excellent historical fiction about women who operated radar in Hawaii after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and throughout WWII. Sometimes I need a nudge from buddy reads like #LiteraryCrew to get me to read a book that I‘ve got on my library wish list. Women‘s friendships play a key role in the story (along with a cat and her kittens). Found family has played an important role in my life so it‘s one of my favorite themes in fiction.

Happy New Year, friends! I made this prompt specifically for anyone doing #ALSpine, and really for anyone who has a book on their radar because of another Litten‘s recommendation (I have tons!). TBH it‘s mostly selfish and I didn‘t randomly pick it - but I hope it will work for you guys as well 😁😅😂

January hopefuls…most probably some will go into February, especially as I will be back at work nect Monday.

#LiteraryCrew : I‘m going to postpone our discussion until next week. Zeke is crossing the rainbow bridge tomorrow, and I just cannot think of discussions. I‘m so sorry. I‘ll let everyone know when I have the questions ready.

This beautifully written novel was hopeful and bittersweet and sad, with realistically drawn characters behaving in believable ways. It felt like a true depiction of the immigrant experience, torn between two worlds, and leaving your family behind, knowing you may never see them again. It made me think about my own immigrant ancestors, wondering what their experience was like.
Looking forward to our #LiteraryCrew discussion, @Librarybelle 😃

A fascinating fictional imagining of a “post rapture” world. How do those left behind react to the grief, loss, and utter confusion? Among those left behind, which relationships survive? Which crumble? Great reading.
Another great #LiteraryCrew selection. @Librarybelle
