So I live and work in this teeny tiny rural school district where one of our science teachers has developed a nationally renowned fisheries and wildlife education program. They have their own pond, fish hatchery, deer preserve and tagging program, wildlife center, etc. Hunting is huge in our community.
And now we have a lion in our library...
Johanna414 To make a long story short, someone was arrested for illegally trying to sell his big cat mounts and they were confiscated. Somehow they ended up getting donated to our school and there isn‘t room for any more giant animals in the wildlife center... I don‘t think there are many other librarians who can claim they have a literal library lion! #schoollibraries #litsyloveslibraries #librariansoflitsy #librarylion 6y

Johanna414 @kellyann28 Right?! It‘s just so random... I‘ve got one of the tech classes building a base to put her on that looks a little nicer. Have to think of a name 6y
kellyann28 Maybe you could have a little suggestion box for the kids to name her? Or suggest a few names and have them vote on their favorite! 6y
Johanna414 @kellyann28 lol great minds - I‘m working on something to do just that! 6y
LibrarianRyan Very interesting. The St Jo library around here has a tiger Hyde. 6y
TheBookKeepers So interesting!! I love the tagged book btw! Such a cute read and totally fitting for this post 😂 6y
Johanna414 @TheBookKeepers I love the book! I‘ll probably buy a copy and put it out with the lion when her permanent display is built 6y
