2. All. I love physical books. Audiobooks are great for while I'm working and driving. Ebooks are perfect for when I want to read while laying down.

3. Fantasy

The current state of my A to Z challenge right now. I'm currently reading The Kaiju Preservation Society for K. Anyone have any recommendations for the other letters I need?

Thanks!

Suet624 I like this idea! 2mo

Pickpick

The reread confirms: this is a good time. It also solidifies for me that I don't need to own it. I can see picking it up from the library again in a few years, but not rereading it frequently enough to justify adding it to the very limited shelf space of my personal library. I think what impacted me most about it the first time around: 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 The discovery, as an adult coming out of a decade long reading slump that compassionate, fun sci fi existed, that stories with diverse characters, where the protagonist wasn't gendered was possible, are elements that thankfully I've discovered in other works as well, since. I am so very glad I found this book when I did, and that I now have John Scalzi's backlist to keep diving into. ☺️ 6mo
BookmarkTavern I need to get to this one! I love his Lock In series. (edited) 6mo

Alas, another item added to the list of fictional works I would love to read if they were real! 😩

Off and racing on Wicked Words for 2024.

And VERY much enjoying this pacey novel about a multiverse scientific expedition to study and preserve kaiju on an alternate Earth - with the wackiest biology you've ever read.

I was at an SF con where Scalzi did an audience-prompted world-building exercise in which we ended up with octogoats. These Kaiju are far stranger. But no spoilers.
