Not even halfway through and the multiple storylines are kicking my ass. Language so beautiful, pathos so tight—UGHHHH.

BusyBookmark Loved this book!! 5y
MargaretPinardAuthor @BusyBookmark me too! I tried to make it last but read the last chunk without being able to stop. So beautifully balanced 💗I would LOVE to write so@etching at this level #justkeepwriting 🤗 5y

It's scary how fast this is just pouring out of my brain. At this rate, I'll be to the word count, but nowhere near done, in two bloody weeks.

I THINK MY BRAIN EXPLODED ON THE PAGE...which probably explains why it's absolute RUBBISH-CRAP-GARBAGE!!!

Totally struggling not to go back and edit what's been written.

TheWordJar That is an exciting and astounding word count! Do not worry about editing and just let the word vomit come! It can all be fixed later! I didn‘t have much time to write today, and I had to pen-and-paper it since my screen was killing my eyes, so I only added about 200 words. Should get more this weekend. #justkeepwriting 6y
GingerAntics @TheWordJar I was wrong. I don't write beginning to end. I write in a burst, then I read what I've written, editing along the way, then I continue when I get to the end of what I have. Then the next time I start all over again. Not doing that is hard. I never noticed that I wrote that way. I only thought I did that when I was stuck. 6y
julesG I write the exact same way. Re-reading, continuing,... I'm trying to break that habit by leaving prompts at the end of the document, before I finish for the day. This way I can nearly always pick up where I left. Awesome word count, though. I only managed 600 words yesterday. 6y

GingerAntics @julesG that's an interesting idea. I could do a little synopsis or what's supposed to happen next so I don't have to go back and read any of it. Good thinking. I'm going to have to try that. 6y
JazzFeathers @julesG's suggestion is strong. But really you should do what work best for you. NaNoWriMo is this too: discovering what's your method of writing. 6y
julesG I second what @JazzFeathers said, do what works for you. Since I approach my creative writing the same way I did academic/scientific writing, these prompts work best for me. Your synopsis sounds similar and I might try it. 6y
jmofo 👏🎉🤓 6y
TheWordJar @jazzfeathers @julesG At one point in my life I read about a famous author who would write a scene but not finish it, that way they could just keep writing the next day from where they left off. If that makes any sense. I cannot remember who it was who did this. 6y
GingerAntics @TheWordJar there was something similar in the part of 3 am Epiphany about writing books. I've tried that, but I can't seem to get myself to actually stop there. It just feels wrong. 6y
GingerAntics @JazzFeathers @julesG that makes sense, too. I kind of write my academic papers thus way, too, the more I think about it. This must be a strongly engraved process in my head. 6y
julesG @TheWordJar I've read that, too. It's sound advice and I sometimes follow it, but I still leave prompts for my scattered brain. 6y
LibrarianJen Awesome job! 🙌🏼 6y
