Consider the title to be a trigger warning, if it isn‘t obvious. This book is a “nonfiction novel”, a term I hate. It‘s a memoir, as was his previous “nonfiction novel”. In this book, Louis explains, discussed, ruminates on, questions, and second guesses the events that occurred one Christmas Eve when he was raped and nearly killed by a man he had met hours before. This is well done but is not easy to read. #itsamemoir
Cinfhen Sounds brutal 6y
DreesReads @Cinfhen it is, but with the narrative techniques he used it reads more like a police report or news article. Kind of, it isn‘t boring by any stretch. Definitely brave, the actual attack is not much of the book (thankfully). The time he spends reporting it to the police is the hardest part to read. (edited) 6y
Cinfhen I‘m getting ALL vibes 😭😭😭 (edited) 6y

DreesReads I haven‘t read that! Everything I‘ve heard sounds so depressing and it‘s soooo long. I love big books, but not long and depressing. 6y
Kalalalatja @Cinfhen this is different from ALL. It is definitely worth the read, but it is a more slow going, ruminative book than ALL. 6y
Cinfhen Thanks @Kalalalatja because im not sure I could stand a repeat of ALL 6y
