pickDespite the slow burn and length of time it took me to get through this YA fantasy, I ultimately ended up enjoying it. I loved the mythology and world-building, but the plot itself kind of plodded along. The story is very much rooted in Japanese folklore, and I loved that aspect! Enough for me to pick up the sequel when it is published later this year.
