Littens, I need help! I have a student who is in 3rd grade. He's burned through the Andrew Lost series in record time. Magic tree house is a little too easy for him and Riordan might be too much. Give me some series ideas! #letkidsreadwhattheywant #kidlitseries #independantreaders #teacherlibrarian #primarychapterbooks

Literary_Siren If he likes Harry Potter then he‘ll like the Septimus Heap series. 4y
mandarchy @Literary_Siren I don't know if he's read Harry Potter yet. Half of that series is middle grade. But Septimus is a good idea! 4y
Twainy Zombie Squad or Jack Jones series? Too old? 4y

Tattooedteacher How about the wired school books. Or Raold Dahl books. Beast Quest. Dragon Masters. Dragon cove. (edited) 4y
BlueMoonJ Sideways stories from wayside school? Or captain underpants series 4y
BlueMoonJ @MothAndMoons any suggestions? 4y
MothAndMoons @BlueMoonJ The land of stories series by Chris Colfer! 4y
mandarchy @Twainy @Tattooedteacher @BlueMoonJ @MothAndMoons I'll look into these. Great ideas. It's so hard to find harder books for younger kids or easy books for older kids. I'm reading sideways school and didn't even think of it! Perspective 🤔 4y
The_Penniless_Author What about either the Warriors series or Wings of Fire? My daughter is in fourth grade, and everyone her age has been obsessed with these books for the last year or so. There are also a million of them (especially Warriors) so it's hard to run out. 4y
mandarchy Thanks @The_Penniless_Author I'll check if he'd like Wings of Fire. I appreciate all these ideas! He knows about the popular series but he's gravitating toward the forgotten books. Also I think his family wants him to stay in the primary section for another year or so. I haven't read the series he's reading, and that has made it hard to make a suggestion. Maybe I need to read Andrew Lost? 4y
Tattooedteacher I wonder.. what about The Series of Unfortunate Events. 4y
mandarchy @Tattooedteacher that would work if it weren't middle grade. He needs something that's under 4th grade. He reads at a high level for his age but he's not ready for the content. 4y
humouress My youngest is now in secondary and probably an advanced reader so I can't tell anymore if these would be the right reading level: 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid', 'Tom Gates' or 'Land of Stories' series? And maybe 'Skulduggery Pleasant'? I think both my kids got into that at around that age and it still has my 12 yo hooked. (edited) 4y
