I have a theory that certain books find you. This one found me, #idontrememberbuyingthis at a recent library sale. I have a beef with Hemingway lately. Yet it was my bag. Then my husband bought me a first edition at a used bookstore bc he thought I'd like it. All within a week of each other. Hemingway is reaching out to tell me his side things? 🤔

DGRachel I love, love, love Hemingway. I know he was an ass, but his writing just speaks to me. I fear I must hunt down this book. :O #damnitlitsy 8y
Jess_Read_This @DGRachel Look for both editions! The photos in each are different and both are super neat. The paperback has photos of his handwritten notes. I've been on Zelda Fitzgerald kick lately, so I've been reading about him in an unpleasant light. However, these may shed light on his side of things. There is a lot of writing about his time with the Fitzgeralds in Paris. (edited) 8y
Jess_Read_This @DGRachel Have you ever watched the NBC show Timeless? There's an episode where they travel back in time to Paris and Hemingway makes an appearance. It was kind of funny. 8y

LeahBergen I have this one, too (only one copy 😉). 8y
Jess_Read_This @LeahBergen If a second copy finds its way to you.. take it as a sign of a need to reread? 😂 8y
LeahBergen It is still TBR. 😂 8y
DGRachel I haven't seen that episode of Timeless, but I just checked and it's available On Demand. I'll have to check it out. ☺️ 8y
ValerieAndBooks I have both versions of this book (but both are trade paperbacks). And did read both. Love them! 8y
Jess_Read_This @ValerieAndBooks Oh neat! Did you find any differences in reading the two? My husband is reading Old Man and the Sea and wants to read one of my Moveable Feasts afterwards. I'm definitely planning a read myself. 8y

#aprilbookshowers #idontrememberbuyingthis I have no idea where or when I picked up this book! A multi-generational saga on the Russian, and then later American, settlement of Alaska. A very sad but vivid read. #historicalfiction

I posted this when it happened. Apparently, I preordered the Kindle version. I can only assume the authors were on the news and I thought, "oh, that sounds really interesting ", but #idontrememberbuyingthis #aprilbookshowers
