#Aprella #day4 #HighForThis Catching up on this months challenge, a week in and I‘m already behind! I‘m a big believer in cannabis as medicine, I‘m well aware of it‘s ability as s pain reliever & anti inflammatory. When I was in my early 20s, my endometriosis was horrible. I‘d spend a week of each month at least, unable to move & so nauseous I ended up weighing 44kg. Cannabis was the only thing that helped, not just for my pain but my nausea too.

Mdargusch Glad you found relief! 7y
Cathythoughts I hear great things about the healing powers of cannabis .... thank god for it 🙏🏻 (edited) 7y
AmyG I have a friend with MS and it has helped him so much. 7y

emilyhaldi It would be amazing if everyone who needed cannabis for medical purposes had access! 7y
Reviewsbylola I‘ve always been curious about this. 7y
Jeg So many good things about this plant. Can‘t wait for it to be legal in all states of Australia. 7y
Cinfhen Happy to see you post this💚It really is a life saver for so many ~ I‘m all about legalizing marijuana 🙌🏻 7y

#Aprella #HighForThis ?Eating diner (leftover vegan ramen) while starting this book I'm reviewing next week, I was contemplating what to use for today's prompt & I thought--actress, came of age in the late 60s-70s, describes herself as a "hippie-feminist"-she must have gotten high. I flipped through some of the essays & bingo!--I found a passage where she sets out to lose her virginity in college & 'smoked a joint' beforehand. My work is done! ?

emilyhaldi Do I spy an original MBDargusch painting?! Whatever happened to that door you decorated with the chalk outline of Sharon Tate‘s body? 😜 7y
AmyG @emilyhaldi That sounds awesome. 7y
Meredith3 @emilyhaldi I'm hoping it's somewhere in @Mdargusch 's garage! I wouldn't blame her if she disposed of it 😹. 7y

Reggie Did you know that the financial backers gave a Leonardo DiCaprio a Van Goh that he had to give up to the FBI because the production company of this movie and a couple others were a company used to launder money that was part of billions stolen from the government of Malaysia? 7y
Mdargusch Ha! I remember this! 7y

Pickpick

Finished this on an airplane, so I guess I was technically #highforthis. Found her journey of addressing her trauma and her body and slowly coming to acceptance incredibly moving and emotional. Shines a light on how her society views women who don‘t fit cultural ideals. Acknowledges hasn‘t yet reach place of being body positive but working to get there. #aprella #booked2018 #bodypositive

Blaire Finished first quarter of #booked2018 a few days late. 7y
emilyhaldi Lol, perfect! 😆👌🏻 I wanted to like this one but it just did nothing for me🤷🏻‍♀️ 7y
Reviewsbylola Hahaha good one!! ✈️ I didn‘t love Bad Feminist so I‘m not sure I‘ll be reading this. 7y

BarbaraTheBibliophage Never fear. You‘ll still have entries from the books in our second season giveaway! Great job! 👏🏻🎉📚 7y
Blaire @emilyhaldi @Reviewsbylola I loved some of bad feminist, but other essays I skimmed so I don‘t watch enough tv/movies to get the context. I‘d heard several interviews with her about writing this and hearing her talk about it was moving. But certainly not for everyone. 7y

Great Expectations | Charles Dickens
post image

Supposedly many nineteenth century writers dabbled in their fair share of drugs, particularly Opium. One such author is Charles Dickens, who writes of opium dens and the effects of the drugs in his book The Mystery of Edwin Drood. One wonders if perhaps he was #highforthis while writing any of his great works? 🤩
Certainly, this portrait of him makes me incredibly suspicious 🤔
