92/150 This is the first book I've read by David Gemmell, but it definitely won't be the last. If you're in the mood for a epic fantasy, then this is it, but also there's some deeper thought going on also. What makes a hero? Who decides what is legend and what is truth? Can a hero escape his destiny? It's a rollicking adventure for sure, but deeper than the usual sword & sorcery story. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫

It is all in ruins now but back then, under a younger sun, the city walls were strong and high.

#tuesdaytunes I asked AI generator to do me the following. Jimi Hendrix reading Wizard of Oz. Nina Simone reading Dune. Cal Tjader reading Foundation. Roy Ayers reading Marx. Rick Wakeman reading Legend and Donna Summer reading The Hobbit. ☺️ More shenanigans next week!

I am posting one book per day from my extensive, and ever growing, TBR shelves. Some are old and some are new, some were gifts and some I don't remember why I bought them.

For days when you dream of calling your enemies “fatherless curs” just before enjoying some aggressive negotiations with your Crom-given broadsword…there is Conan. The original and best still holds up with imaginative short stories of adventure in a long forgotten time. You don‘t have to know or care about any of the modest world-building…each clever, funny, exciting tale catches up with Conan right before the mayhem begins. Crom protect you!

I loved the two previous books and I love this one as well. It does have very strong The Hobbit vibes, just with more blood and more... Warhammer. Duh 😆
Now we haven even more dwarfs to make Felix' life difficult and pretty much deadly. Oh, and a daemon of course. How could I not enjoy this series?
Alright, enough of the fangirling. Sadly, the next volume still isn't published... Poor me 😉

Shows this beloved epic fantasy author at his best. I love how David Gemmell combines epic fantasy with romance.

(1976) Fourth (or third, depending on whether you count "Giant of Worlds End" and why wouldn't you?) in Carter's dying-Earth series, "The Gondwane Epic"). In this one our adventurers deal with an invading force of barbarians. This one didn't work for me. It wanders a lot, solves problems with dei ex machinae, and is unserious without being funny.

This was my #BookSpin book for March.

Once again, two very different books for #BookSpin and #DoublSpin. (What would a mashup look like? "Local Goddess Missing at World's End"? Man, I'd read that.)

Thanks @TheAromaofBooks !
