I really enjoyed this one. You have a cannibalistic little mermaid traveling with a plague doctor, and then they meet like the children of the corn and their gods. It's nuts and beautifully written 🖤

Leniverse Weird question, but does the book start with The First Night and the question "Where are you going?", and then the whole backstory to how the mermaid came to be married to a human is basically an epilogue? Asking because I have a digital review copy with wonky formatting, and I'm wondering if it's been shuffled around. 1y
BookwormAHN @Leniverse That sounds about right except the backstory is scattered through the main story and the epilogue is her becoming human and resurrecting the plague doctor. 1y
Leniverse Ah, in my copy we get the whole story about her sisters and the pregnancy and the first meeting with the plague doctor, and how horrible the prince was, after that bit. Which I thought was a bold move which kinda worked, but also kinda didn't. 1y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen Khaw is on my TBR! 😁 1y
