One of the best books that I read last year, and one of my favorite books, is also an amazing stand alone book. This is a novel that is somehow timeless and universal to soldiers and wars everywhere even though it only presents to view if WWI German soldiers. This is a book that absolutely deserves to be a classic no matter what age or circumstances you live in.
