I have enjoyed every book written by Fiona Davis and this was no exception. I read it in one day.
The story follows two timelines, 1913 when Laura Lyons wants to be one a journalist, while being married with two children. Her husband is superintendent of the NYPL, and they live in the seven room apartment in the building. As she tries to create ⬇️

This book was okay. Don‘t get me wrong! I understood the references and was able to envision the lifestyle. I did like the flashbacks to the past , but I was not a fan of the ending. It kind of contradicted what was set up in the beginning of the story. I am rating this story three stars out of five. #thebirthdaygirl #melissadelacruz #dutton

I am not a fan of the writing style, so the plot was definitely the book's saving grace. It was a pretty fun plot-driven story overall. Generally, fast-paced, except for a couple of parts.
