The Chef | James Patterson, Max DiLallo
Mehso-so

It was very readable but predictable at the same time... The main character was the typical 'cop with integrity who doesn't play by the rules' and his love interest was mostly defined by being ridiculously attractive. In contrast to the female characters, we have little idea what 'The Chef' looks like and I assumed he was black until there was a little aside saying he was a white man in a black neighborhood. It had nice short chapters but 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wasn‘t sure how #BookSpinBingo would work out for me since I usually only read 5-7 books per month but I loved it! Great way to organize my reading and tackle the TBR. I read the #BookSpin, the #DoubleSpin and got a bingo. So fun! Can‘t wait for June! @TheAromaofBooks

A former police detective turned food truck owner tries to save New Orleans from a terrorist attack during Mardi Gras. This is a faced paced, easy to follow, book. I enjoyed it as a light and entertaining read.

A quick read. It kept me guessing. I love the idea of an ex-cop owning/running a food truck named Killer Chef. They say Detectives never truly quit the job & this is a great example. I would definitely read more works involving these characters if Patterson decided to write more.

Just got back from NOLA last week and wish I would have read this one first. It has lots of great local New Orleans spots, including some great restaurant mentions and even recipes. It‘s making me hungry 😊

I just thought this was meh. I think JP is trying to help to many new writers and his books are suffering. Of course, that's just my opinion. It finally picked up near the end.

rretzler I‘m not convinced that JP isn‘t doing anything more than lending his name to the co-authored books, for a fee, of course. But perhaps that‘s just my cynicism talking. 🤣 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
RamsFan1963 @rretzler I always figured JP wrote a basic outline of the story and the other person wrote it. That the only explanation that makes sense, considering the varying quality of the books he's "co-wrote" 6y
MonicaLoves2Read @rretzler You could be right. I just know his books used to be better. Of course, that's just my opinion.🤔 6y
MonicaLoves2Read @RamsFan1963 Could be. He sure puts out a lot of books.🤔 6y
