Wasn‘t a fan of this. My least favorite part of watching/reading Bourdain‘s works are his opinions about America‘s food culture. In his graphic novel, a corporate chef and a locavore chef battle for control of the upscale dining market. But Jiro, an edo-style sushi chef, and other upholders of food traditions battle back for control of America‘s stomachs. I also never appreciate his fat shaming. That really kills me about him. #hoopla

I listened to this audiobook recently and loved it. Bourdain left me feeling both disappointed and relieved that I‘ve never worked in professional kitchen. His honesty about his own career to include the mistakes he made was refreshing. I wish I had gotten around to this sooner and now plan to check out his other books.

I ended up listening to the audiobook version of this, and I‘m glad I did. The author reads it herself and you can hear the emotions in her voice in certain parts. I liked what she had to say about being a working mother. I‘ll transfer my notes to the book and get it in the mails this week @TheBookHippie @ElizaMarie @bookandbedandtea #LMPBC

It is that time of year when I do a summer reading list for my best friend!! 🤓

I will never work in a kitchen (I don't think I have the chops for it), but... it sounds like a wild place to spend some time. I am thankful for the amazing chefs in my life :) - (my husband is a phenomenal cook, and his sister is a chef for a retirement community).

Anthony Bourdain was an amazing man, he is surely missed.

We watched the show and had to get the book after trying out four of the recipes. Today we tried the meatloaf roll, which was done about 10min before the postie brought the #BookMail.

#MtCookbook Week 2
I had the this out all Dec, planning to try different things through the holidays. Ha! The first recipe I tried this week - Cheese Pie with Chestnut Pastry, Brussels Sprouts, & Hazelnuts
Holiday comfort food, the flavors were a bit reminiscent of Thanksgiving. I had my doubts on the all-butter chestnut crust, but it actually had quite a good crisp, tender crumb. It was more of a creamy Brussels sprout & onion, than a cheese pie.
