Kept apart for most of the chapter by a clever Mrs Weasley, eventually Hermione, Ron and Harry discuss their plans (after the wedding, Harry), what new stuff they've learned (Dumbledore had all the Horcrux books), and their #sacrifices (sob). Then the Delacours arrive, and Rowling ejects a small dash of humour. Bring on the wedding! Yay, no spoiler alert!

Love how much ground this chapter covers. The lightness of two-on-two Quidditch, the darkness of the missing wizards, the happiness of meeting up with Hagrid and the gloominess of Diagon Alley. #darknessandlight is also evident with George and Fred's shop contrasted with the encounters with Draco. It's all happening, I tell ya.

Even a clever person like Hermione can be blindsided by a pair of sparkling eyes. Lockhart is responsible for much of the humour in book 2, ironic for a defence of the dark arts teacher.
