Crisis mode!!!😳 officially ran out of space on my bookshelf that I just bought a month ago... Any ideas on how to maximize the space I can use?? #bookishprobs

Trav Get rid of the books that you won't ever read again/can part with. I have the same issue, so now I just borrow from the library. If I really love the book then I will go out and buy it. 8y
Mayread @Trav I agree! This method works well for me, too.... 8y
Mayread But in the mean time, horizontal stacks accommodate more books. 8y

pppooraikul Another option (apart from total horizontal stacks), you can put books with the same height together and put small horizontal stacks on top of them. It's only temporary, though. I think the concrete solution is to buy more bookshelf! ;) 8y
queerbookreader Alright. I only have room for one bookshelf in my room so I've mastered this. Line them vertically in back, horizontal in front, so the front ones are easy to move so you can see the back. Stack more horizontal on the vertical ones where there's room. It's real-life Tetris. Go team. 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Bookcases can take up a lot of room floor wise, but floating bookshelves or actual bookshelves on the walls help with places for books and leave more space for the floor. I have only bookcases in My Library, but shelves for all other rooms in the house. 8y
queerbookreader You need to sort the vertical by height, too, to fit more on top horizontally. Also sort the vertical by depth so all the small books are together and can be pushed back to fit horizontal books in front. This is a super efficient way to put books in your shelves, I promise 8y
MrBook I like this problem. Can one have a likable problem? Because this, to me, is a likable problem. 8y
451Degrees @Trav @Skiles @pppooraikul @lemonlime799 @BooksTeasAndBookishThings @MrBook thank you all for your suggestions! I will be spending the day rearranging ☺️ 8y
pppooraikul @MrBook Sounds likeable enough, considering how empty I feel when I see empty spaces on my bookshelf. 8y
MrBook 😁👍🏻 @pppooraikul 8y
quirkyreader Time to double pack the shelves and start investing in plastic totes. 8y
