We have a Award here in Australia 🇦🇺 which is called The Inkys. It‘s one where only teenagers are allowed to vote. There is a ‘Gold‘ Inky for Oz books (top five), and a ‘Silver‘ Inky for International. Yesterday the winners were announced and this book won. You might think I have amazing powers to be #currentlyreading the winner, but nah, it‘s just the only one I haven‘t read. THUG won the silver, in case you‘re wondering. #awards #loveozya
This important list of Australian Young Adult novels was announced at the end of last month. I have already read (the top) four, and need to get on to In the Dark Spaces by Cally Black. I am still hunting down the sixth book, which is from a smaller publisher so a bit more difficult to source. #awards #loveozya #cbca #olderreaders btw, the four I read, are all excellent, and come highly recommended.
This year, the Golden Man Booker Prize will put all winners of 50 years of Man Booker back under the spotlight, to discover which of them has stood the test of time.
Five judges have been appointed to read the winning novels from each decade of the prize: Robert McCrum (1970s); Lemn Sissay MBE (1980s); Kamila Shamsie (1990s); Simon Mayo (2000s); and Hollie McNish (2010s).
Their shortlist will be announced on May 26.
