Why does it seem that all of our modern problems always begin with this idiot? I‘m not even sure we should be calling him a philosopher or a theologian. Passing off your pathology as theology shouldn‘t be celebrated!!! Christianity was some semblance of sane before he invented original sin and then made it an STI!!!

Branwen Wow, this sounds really interesting! I may have to check it out! 6y
GingerAntics @Branwen I totally recommend this book. It is so good. I‘m in hailing it. But that recommendation comes with a caveat. If you believe the story of Adam of Eve is true, if this is a central tenet of your faith, DO NOT read this book because you WILL be offended. 6y
Branwen @GingerAntics I totally don't, so it's okay! 😀👍💕 I love reading things like this, but more for personal pleasure and research, rather than from the perspective of a religious person. I'm going to check and see if my library has it! 😁 6y

GingerAntics @Branwen oh it‘s definitely not for the religious. I just wanted to make sure. It looks at it as a story and why it‘s been so prevalent a story. Three major world religions have this story as their creation story, but from three different perspectives. It also has a wider view of why we tell ourselves stories and why we‘re so fascinated with the stories we tell. 6y
Branwen @GingerAntics Omg just from your description I am already in love with it! 😍 6y
Branwen @GingerAntics My library has it! I just put it on hold! 😀📚💕 6y
GingerAntics @Branwen YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! I love when that happens!!! Mine is a library book as well, but I may have to purchase this one. It‘s SO good. I generally don‘t reread, but this may be a reread situation. (edited) 6y
Branwen @GingerAntics Me too! BEST DAY EVER!!! 6y
TiredLibrarian Love "passing off your pathology as theology" ? ?❤ 6y
GingerAntics @TiredLibrarian 🤣😂🤣 thanks! That‘s how I see him. I grew up on a culture that revered him as this innovative thinker and brilliant theologian, but when I had to read his work for a class, I realised he was actually a lunatic that completely changed the course of an entire faith system. 6y
