Witching Hour | Anne Rice
post image

I‘ve not read Anne Rice before but my Aunt gave these to me so apparently I‘m going to become a fan! Excited to discover something “new” !! 🤩

5feet.of.fury Some day I will read those Witching Hour books. I‘ve started the 1st book a few times but keep putting it off 7d

Since watching the “Interview with the Vampire” series, I realized that was the only book that I read in the series years ago. I am currently flying through “The Vampire Lestat” and it is fantastic!!!

Enjoyed this re-read for #bookspin but had forgotten how bloody long it is! Not quite as good as the witching hour, but good to get more of Lasher‘s history, and also hear more from Julian, whom I LOVE

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 3w

I think every teacher in this building deserves free books and more but my spirit animal deserves the world! She was telling me about this amazing series and turns out I added it to my TBR in 2017.

5feet.of.fury A classic! 2mo

Honestly my favorite book of all time. Lost count of how many readings! Just shelve any apprehensions and read it! You‘ll have a new hero

Reason for reading: I‘ve been an Anne Rice fan since I was 17 (that‘s appx 500 years for anyone counting; just kidding…I‘m not a gorgeous or angsty immortal vampire being—or am I?).

The good: Lestat is the same old Brat Prince he ever was, so if you‘re into that…

The bad: 300 pgs too long, way too much talking.

Conclusion: I didn‘t hate this book but I did a mini groan every time I picked it up & I was so happy to be done with it.

🕯 this book is in my house since forever, I think my mom bought it in 1999 or 2000 (the price is still in Lire and not Euros) but I've never read it..

ShyBookOwl Haha ohhhh I was OBSESSED with Rice in high school. I first read this one in middle school. I've outgrown her now, but so many memories of little goth me flood back when I see her books 😅 4mo
La_Cori @ShyBookOwl I've never had a real gothic phase in my reading life, so I don't know much about this series.. in my teenage years I was reading thrillers and spy novels (and now, 20 years later I can't stand them 🤷🏻‍♀️ they make me too anxious😅) 4mo

Ruthiella I‘d be curious to hear what you make of this. I read it when I was in college and loved it and read the next two sequels right after, but I have tried other Rice books later in life and didn‘t love them. 4mo
La_Cori @Ruthiella maybe I'll try and read it.. I've never seen the movie or the tv series either, so I'll go in totally blind 4mo

Screenshot from Books in the Freezer insta-reel. A hilarious annotation inspired by if Lestat was written during GRWM popularity.
Annotation reads: Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel.
