The I Inside | Alan Dean Foster

Pickpick

99/150 I think Alan Dean Foster is underrated as a writer, too many think of him as the guy who writes movie adaptations, they don't know he writes really good original science-fiction too. This is part romance and part space opera. Eric Abbot sees Lisa Tambor and falls madly in love, the the world seems to want to keep them apart. When Eric tries to find out why, he exposes a conspiracy larger than he ever imagined. Continued in the comments ⬇️

RamsFan1963 It's a quick breezy adventure, that takes a lot of wild turns before the satisfying conclusion. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Before I go, I have to comment on the book cover. It is totally non- representative of the book's content, and looks like something out of a very bad 70s sci-fi TV show. 2y

Andrew65 Looks good, well done 👏👏👏 2y
swynn Agree that Foster is much more than that novelizer guy. I loved the Pip/Flinx series in high school, and have been thinking of revisiting it to catch up 2y

It is not God, Martin Oristano reminded himself for the thousandth time as he approached the machine.

This was a fun mix of Indiana Jones, the They Live movie, and H.P. Lovecraft. Cody drinks an ancient potion he‘s deciphered off a thousand year old slab and is given the power to see horrific creatures that inhabit our world. Invisible to everyone else, they feed off the negative emotions of unsuspecting victims, causing everything from stomach aches to car accidents, madness to civil wars. Once Cody‘s own wife becomes a victim, he must ⬇️

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

An entertaining romp through a trippy quest. It‘s like a Stephen King novel came into contact with the Improbability Drive in Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy. It was okay for what it is and the time it was written. Some bits have aged well and the almost Lovecraftian horror aspect is fun to read. But there are moments you wonder if the author is living out repressed fantasies when random intimate interactions are wedged into the storyline.

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm EDIT: Helps if I put reviews under the review tab instead of the blurb tab. Apologies everyone. 🤦‍♀️ 4y

I am at the point in the book (page 204 out of 301) where Kylo Ren and Rey meet the first time on Takodana. Rey seems frightened of him. I noticed that Kylo is a bit more sinister in the book. #starwarsbooks #theforceawakens #alandeanfoster #kyloren
