Hello, fellow #wintercamplitsy campers! We know you like to see some of the ‘nearly-made it‘ books when it comes to camp voting!

The above 9 books are in order of voting, with The Road to Tender Hearts being the closest to making our top 3.

Interestingly, The Antidote was in the top 3 for the first half of voting, but fell away later on, whereas Good Dirt did the opposite.

What do you think of these - any you‘ve read or plan to read anyway?

Hooked_on_books @TrishB I don‘t like saccharine books at all and despite the title suggesting it would be, it‘s not! I‘ve read all of Hartnett‘s books and she puts enough melancholy in them to balance the emotions well. I endorse it! (But of course you can still wait for Helen‘s review! 😉) 1w

Caroline2 I still want to read The Antidote and Dream hotel. Maybe some of the others too…? 1w

TrishB @Hooked_on_books I loved Rabbit Cake, then didn‘t like Unlikely Animals so I I‘m a bit on the fence really. And it‘s really expensive here so I‘d have to be very convinced! 1w

Chelsea.Poole I‘ve read 4 of these and currently reading The Garden which I am very invested in, anxious to see how this all ends up! Also, I‘m likely going to give Mother and Sons a try as well as Tender Hearts and Good Dirt. 1w

Leniverse @squirrelbrain Well in that case... 🤔 Checked the library and they have two copies of the Antidote just sitting there, so I guess I will read it! 1w

Leniverse It seems I have Mothers and Sons marked as want to read on Goodreads, but I have no recollection of doing that. Even worse, I don't remember ever having read the blurb although I must have done so for the winter camp vote, if not before. Pre-xmas brain is not braining! 🤯😵‍💫 1w

JenlovesJT47 I‘ve lived in central Florida my whole life, minus 2 years I went to college in California. We were near LA out in the desert. 30 mph winds every day. Would get in the 100s. Dry heat but still. As far as I‘m concerned, hot is hot is hot! But the humidity just adds a little extra blech to it 😆 6mo

And then, all 3 of her sisters had menopause babies, too. 🤣🤣🤣 Those hormones go crazy in more ways than one! 7mo

CBee @lil1inblue nobody told me. I was gobsmacked. Still am to be honest. I remember my mom having crazy hot flashes and moodiness - but she was always emotional and prone to moodiness like me! Didn‘t think it was anything different. NOW I KNOW 🤦‍♀️🙄😅😬😂 7mo
