#seasonsreadings2016
#aclassicihaventreadyet

I'm VERY behind with #seasonsreadings.

Hey! I've noticed a surprising amount of shame from people about the classics that hadn't yet been read. No shame, people! No shame! Litsy is a shame free zone, right? 😂

I've been working my way through Bronte sisters' stuff for awhile but haven't gotten to this one yet. Anyone here read it? If so what did you think?
@RealLifeReading

LeahBergen I read it years ago but remember really liking it. 8y
Moray_Reads I read it fairly recently, it's not my favourite Brontë work but I'd still excellent and possibly the most thought-provoking 8y
Libby1 Thanks, @LeahBergen and @Moray_Reads . Hopefully I'll get to it in 2017. 8y

Sue I think it's my favourite Bronte novel - as @Moray_Reads said it's very thought provoking and deals with some feminist issues which were pretty much not talked about at the time. 8y
Libby1 @Sue , @Moray_Reads and @LeahBergen - I love those sisters. Their father grew up just down the road from where I live in Northern Ireland. I read their books through that filter - trying to see the affect Northern Irish culture had on their lives. As I'm an immigrant here I like to think about that. 8y
Libby1 Oops. EFFECT not AFFECT. 😜 8y
Moray_Reads @Libby1 That's so interesting. I grew up very close to Haworth where the Brontës lived 8y
Sue @Libby1 @Moray_Reads That's so cool! I'm in Australia so I couldn't get further away. I think the quality of the work they produced and the questions they pose are amazing given how isolated they were. 8y
LeahBergen @Libby1 @Sue @Moray_Reads I love them all, too, and will read pretty much anything about them that is published. I forgot for a moment that the father was originally from Ireland. And oh, Haworth ... I visited there and it was a dream come true for me. We stayed at the Black Bull and walked around the parsonage in the middle of the night 😂 8y
kspenmoll Thx for reminder that Litsy = no shame! How easy I grant that to others but not to me! 👏👏 8y
tricours I liked it, but I can't remember much of it. 8y

JenP It's so good. I haven't read them since I was a child but it was probably one of my favorite series. 8y
PenguinInFlight I love this series! I read it SO many times growing up. 😍 8y
Laura317 I read it for the first time a couple of months ago. I love Anne! 8y
obviateit @JenP @PenguinInFlight @Laura317 I'm really excited about it! I'm a fan of the characterization after just the first chapter. 8y
