Murder at Haven's Rock | Kelley Armstrong
post image

Casey is up to it again- pulling bodies outta the forest before Haven's Rock is even established!
Get ready for some return faves and few new “alphas“.
Having read this many I am wondering how long Armstrong can stretch this and also getting a little tired of the constant lampshading of lines of inquiry
e.g. Casey asks some random a question and they go something like “ oh you're asking that b/c you really want to know....“

dabbe I can't stop looking at those adorable baby feet! #onajourney 🤩🤩🤩 1w
BarbaraBB I‘m about to start my first Armstrong. Lovely pic too 😍 1w
Andrea4 @dabbe he has some very chunky feet!!! 😍 Adorable. Difficult to shod but adorable. 1w
Andrea4 @BarbaraBB thanks! I find they are fast and addictive reads. I actually think this series would make a great TV series. 1w

A debut novelist has trouble finding a publisher for her YA zombie novel until she attributes her work to a masculine pseudonym. Daphne hires someone to play the author on the book tour and they fall for each other. I really had a good time with this one - both Daphne and Chris were sweet and good together. Loved the Canadian settings too! #netgalley

Sace Sounds cute! 2w

Book 2 of the Rockton/Casey Duncan series.
The story continues in Rockton, a town hidden in the Yukon that is invisible to the outside world. Casey and Duncan are exploring a cave and find the girl they thought had died in the wilderness. But no, she's been held captive in pit in the cave for 16 months. So did the 2 other women who they presumed were lost actually captured by some maniac and kept in a cave? The setting of this book is truly⬇️

Crazeedi A wilderness, with people living as settlers outside the settlement. Some willingly left the town, some have been there for generations. Looking forward to book 3! 2w

First in a new-to-me series! This was definitely a pick, somewhere between 3 and 4 stars but I rounded up.

If there was a Rockton, I can't tell you how tempted I'd be to run there. Not because life is horrible but because this sounds like nirvana (also hard as heck!).

I enjoyed Casey's story and am looking forward to more in this series.

While at the lake I've gone to the local library, the girl there told me she read the 7 books in this series in a week! A new series?! Yes!
Casey takes a friend who needs to disappear to a place totally off the grid, in Yukon territory. Rockton doesn't exist , you must be approved to get there. Casey is a detective, the sheriff of Rockton has never lived anywhere but there. 3 murders happen in a town of 200⬇️

Crazeedi The surrounding forests and wilderness can get one lost quickly. Can Casey help Dalton before more are murdered? Great first book in the series! 3w
TheSpineView Fantastic! 3w

Well, finished the Rockton series and boy, did that end with a bang!
I think this may have been one of the better ones in terms of murder mystery. Amidst the mayhem of dismantling things, Casey has to figure out a murder and an attempted murder. She and Eric are also faced with the question of “what for?“.
I'm excited to start the next series but it seems I'll have a bit of wait if I want to do it via audio.

Of course I went on to devour this in about two days 😂
A Danish speaking stranger badly injured is found- just another tourist ill-prepared for the wilderness or is she connected to something larger? Casey finally gets answers to questions that have bothered her since she got to Rockton- how did the settlements form? Why? Who are and who were the Hostiles? Who “spiked the punch“? And why are they “drinking the Kool aid“?

Finished while foraging! (🌿 Coltsfoot)
I sped through this in a handful of “sittings (more like walkings haha).
Yet another good one in the series, and no need to read the previous if you don't want to or can't.
This plot seemed a little convoluted but still, I love the characters and the whole premise. Casey's sister will be an interesting addition to further plots I imagine. Could have used more Anders time 😏

#SpringSkies

This #Lost title is the first book in the Rockton series that spun off into the newer Haven‘s Rock series. It‘s set in the Yukon wilds where people go to a hidden town to get lost from danger. It‘s become one of my favorite mystery/thriller series. 💙🤍🩶 #SeriesLove

Eggs This sounds so gooood 2mo
BarbaraBB I just read @Hooked_on_books review about the second book in the series. Both your reviews make me curious! 2mo
DebinHawaii @BarbaraBB It‘s an addictive series for sure! The book @Hooked_on_books read is the second book in the second spinoff series, so definitely start with this book & Rockton series before going to the Haven‘s Rock series. 2mo

Hooked_on_books They‘re both such good series, @BarbaraBB ! You would think a tiny town hidden in the Yukon wouldn‘t provide enough fodder for so many good books, but Armstrong is terrific. 2mo
BarbaraBB Oh thanks, I thought it was the same series but I will start with your book and the Rockton series! 2mo
BarbaraBB @Hooked_on_books Now I want to read them all asap… I‘m terrible. 2mo
JuliaTheBookNerd One of my favorite series 💙 2mo
