#BookSpin and #DoubleSpin? Be gentle with me; it has taken me months to find @TheAromaofBooks explanation of all this. I “get” the spin concept but don‘t quite yet understand the #BookSpinBingo component and I am totally ready to embrace the idea that I have made it waaaaaay too complicated.
The books above are books I want to read SOON plus books that are for my #ClassicsClub50. 👇🏼

BkClubCare I meant to have books I am currently reading AND include some FREE cells. Oh well. This should still help me figure out what to read the last quarter of 2021. (I only have 6 of these books in the House ready. But most should be librariable. (why is that not a word?)) 3y
BkClubCare Am setting row 1 as books 1-5, row 2: 6-10, etc. I await the post on Oct 2nd that gives me a number which based on position will be something I will read in October. Right?! I posted this with Let the Great World Spin because it is an almost #TOB #TournamentofFavorites #noideawhichhashtagtouse 3y
Soubhiville That totally should be a word! 3y

Soubhiville And yes it sounds like you have the idea on how it works. Enjoy! 3y
BkClubCare @Soubhiville - I have spent way too much time today fartin' around with book things and not actually reading books! 🤣🤣🤣 3y
wanderinglynn I think you‘ve got it. 👍🏻 All you need is your list of at least 20 books. Sarah will post the two numbers that she draws to be the bookspin and doublespin numbers. Then she‘ll post the bingo board. If you have a list of 20, then 21-25 are free spaces. 3y
BkClubCare @wanderinglynn - this is my 20 books. It needs to be in list form? 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Looks like you‘ve got the gist! Your current board will get jumbled up from how it looks now once she posts the “official” bingo board. (I‘m sorry if I‘m just re-explaining what you already know. 😅) That‘s where the “list” idea comes from, but as long as you‘ve numbered these, you‘ll be good. Then you choose a row to read to get a bingo. Or you can just read what you‘re in the mood for and hope they line up into a bingo. I‘ve done it both ways.👍 3y
TheAromaofBooks Glad to have you along!! @wanderinglynn & @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm have made great points!! As long as your books are numbered, they don't have to be in list form. I'll draw the BookSpin & DoubleSpin numbers & those are the “official“ books to be read for the month. I'll also post a bingo board that shuffles all the numbers that you can use if you want to - since the bingo part is just for fun (BS/DS involves a giveaway!) I'm not super strict!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks Here's the link to September's bingo board - seeing it may help it make more sense!! https://www.litsy.com/web/post/2265519 - just let me know if you have any questions. I'll be sure to tag you on the 2nd!! 3y
BkClubCare @TheAromaofBooks - Thank you! I had been searching for an explanation and just couldn‘t seem to find it (probably hidden right in front of me?) I had never seen the prompts- only everyone‘s own boards? Nothing seemed to connect 💡 3y
wanderinglynn Yes, I used the term “list” loosely. As @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm said, your books just need to be numbered 1-20 so you‘ll know which one of your books is the bookspin book when Sarah announces October‘s bookspin and doublespin numbers. The bingo part is just extra fun. Not everyone does bookspin bingo. At this point, I‘m just happy if I finish my bookspin and doublespin books. 3y
BkClubCare @wanderinglynn - ok. Yea, I will just let row 1 be books for 1 thru 5, row 2 will be #6-10 etc; and Vilette will be #20. I will wait to Oct 2nd and see what happens (Do you then re-arrange the books to fit her grid? I need a better template to make these visuals 🤣🤣) 3y
wanderinglynn I just have a list 1-20 with the book titles. I don‘t do a graphic for bookspin bingo. Some people draw a bingo grid in their reading journal or on a piece of paper and take a photo of that. Some physically lay out their books on the floor in a grid and take a photo. Some make a graphic. Some just use Sarah‘s bingo board. It‘s really up to you how much time/effort you want to put into it. 3y
BkClubCare @wanderinglynn - thank you 🙏 and everyone for being patient with me; it‘s all supposed to be fun! and I got a bit carried away with how to do it RIGHT, I think. People are so creative. 3y
wanderinglynn Exactly, keep focusing on the fun. 💜Everyone does is slightly different because they make it work for them. That‘s what you need to find—what works for you and what‘s fun. You got this! 🙌🏻 3y
TheAromaofBooks Yes, I definitely encourage everyone to focus on the fun part - I'm super loosey-goosey with the rules 😂 Every month when I post the reminder post, I do include the “rules“ (such as they are) so I will also tag you with that - I posted it yesterday. If you look through the comments I added at the top of the post, it should give you somewhat of an idea of what's going on haha 3y
BkClubCare It‘s Oct 2nd: #BookSpin 9, #DoubleSpin 7 3y

Pickpick

I‘m so intimidated by Dexter Palmer I can‘t even review his book. How about this: It‘s really, really good. 😁
#ToB #TournamentofFavorites

BarbaraBB I didn‘t dare read it either. 3y
Readerann @BarbaraBB Yeah, I sympathize! I did read it - just feel so intellectually inferior to Palmer I wasn‘t sure what to say except that I liked it! 3y
BkClubCare He‘s so good. Smart and entertaining 3y

The Animators: A Novel | Kayla Rae Whitaker

Pickpick

This is hard for me to rate. The parts about the animation process and artistic inspiration were fascinating, but I otherwise did not enjoy being part of Mel and Sharon‘s world. I guess it‘s a lukewarm ‘pick‘.
