He hears the warhorn, walks to the godswood, prays to die as a man. he sees Bran‘s face in the weirwood. The singer‘s girls come to him

Lady Arya has not been seen out since the wedding. Reek sees her bruises &reminds her of their roles
He wonders if Stannis will storm the castle,or use stealth as he had:the snow will encourage quick action
Lady Dustin asks to see the crypts, notes that Northmen will not want Arya mistreated. She was with Brandon before he was betrothed to Cat,she was settled with Lord Dustin who died under Ned‘s command,she‘ll never allow Ned‘s bones to rest here

Reek reminds Ramsay‘s bride that she must only think of herself as the role she‘s in, even as she tries to get him to remember who he was.
As the “closest thing to kin”, he is to give her away. But he knows this isn‘t so. By using him no one will question her
Reek thinks back on all the things that happened at Winterfell
He is asked to escort her to the bedding, to unveil her & “help” He feels it‘s a trap, a test… so he does

Ramsay returns in a foul mood, as does Roose who reports the Freys that were with Lord Wyman are gone. Wyman stopped to feast &the men disappeared
Roose &Ramsay try to keep stories straight about the Starks/Winterfell, Reek struggles with the repressed memories
Roose takes Reek &reveals he knows about Ramsay‘s wickedness. He offers to clean Reek up, but Reek is terrified. He is brought before Lady Barbrey &announced as Theon heir to iron isles

Reek is sent on a mission by Ramsay to secure Moat Cailin. He comes with Ramsay‘s terms, claiming that he is ironborn, true of the boy he once was. But the guards are unsure, Victarion told them to hold. He tells them, rightly, that Victarion has forgotten them, Euron is crowned &has other wars
The castle secured, Ramsay rewards him. He drinks himself sick. The next day they proceed on & meet up with Roose, Lady Walda &Ramsay‘s betrothed “Arya”

Maester Luwin counsels Theon; he cannot hold Winterfell. Rodrik & Theon parlay, it goes poorly, he still wants to put his 17 men agains Rodriks 2000. He has Rodrik‘s daughter. A hostage will die ever dusk &dawn if the host doesn‘t retreat, starting with her. He knows they will attack, Luwin tries again, tells him to take the Black. As he considers, Reek returns with Bolton men. Reek reveals himself to be more powerful & crazy than he can handle.

Asha arrives. The deeds he does to keep the castle are getting to Theon, Ironborn are struggling with living with their enemies& Asha has only brought 10 men for him to hold Winterfell. She mocks him for killing the boys, encourages him to come to Deepwood Motte. he recalls how he stopped Maester Luwin from taking the bodies to the crypts. Theon dreams of the dead & wishes he left was Asha, revealing what he & Reek did to the miller‘s sons.

Theon awakes suddenly ¬ices the direwolves are silent. They are gone, along with Bran &Rickon;Jojen, Meera, Osha &Hoddor also escaped. Theon opts to wait til the morning to try to hunt them. But he doesn‘t want his sister Asha, currently sieging Deepwood Motte, to find he has lost the Starks. They follow the trail through wolfswood, finding evidence of the wolves but not the people. Reek offers another theory of where they may stop.

Theon is leading his traitorous party & looting along the coast, still trying to prove he isn‘t soft & that he is not a Stark. He convinces Dagmer that they should go inland &take a castle.
