Reading Black History Month 2017 is off to a bang with a #ReadSoulLit Photo Challenge dedicated to spotlighting black authors. I'm also hosting a readalong on my YouTube channel(Brown Girl Reading) with a discussion group on Goodreads called #ReadSoulLit Readalong - Bedrock Faith. This is my TBR for the month of February but hope I have time to get to more books.... #blackwriters #TBRJan2017

BrownGirlReading @thewanderingbookmark It will be my first whenever I finally get to it. 8y
BrownGirlReading @mickeysirena Loved it! It's bold! Don't think it's easy to understand for people who aren't American. Do you feel the same? 8y
mickeysirena @BrownGirlReading I never thought about how a non-American audience would react to it but it is heavily rooted in American race relations and modern day African-American culture. It's very daring. It shows how absurd American race-relations are without minimizing their impact on people. I can't wait to re-read it one day. 8y
BrownGirlReading @mickeysirena Totally agree. Definitely one I'd like to reread one day. 8y
