About to turn 30, Darcy‘s life has imploded. She returns to her small hometown in Massachusetts to isolate and lick her wounds. Initially she decides that humanity is awful and she wants nothing to do with anyone. But she slowly but surely finds her way back into community and friendship with several colorful and engaging residents of the town. This is a funny, quirky, odd little book that goes from weird to charming to inspiring. I just loved it.

This book was adorable. A bit of magical realism, southern gossip, some sad bits and a happy ending.

This was a sweet romance and a quick read. If you like hockey, as well as grumpy-sunshine and fake dating tropes, you‘ll enjoy this book!

This story was so relatable to me. Like Jess, I'm a lawyer in my early 40s. We even have the same maiden name! And though my issue wasn't necessarily infertility, my husband and I wanted kids but it didn't happen for us for other reasons, and we both had to process that and grieve the what could have beens in our own way and time, and that puts a strain on a marriage. Keane writes beautiful novels with such realistically flawed characters.

Just finished this. Almost a so so. I had to speed read towards the end. I enjoyed the writing. The story line was ok.
Certainly not as enjoyable as Our Souls At Night. I would have liked to have met the author Kent. I think he might have been a very gentle kind man. His stories certainly come across as gentle and thoughtful.

Lucian's mindset remains hilarious to me. From "I hate her" to "We're going to get married" in nothing flat. ? Swooniest of all swoons and great wrap-ups for all! #reread #romcom #contemporaryromance

I haven‘t been able to spend a lot of time on this book but I am really enjoying it and the series.

slategreyskies I know what you mean. Sometimes life gets in the way of reading time. Glad you‘re getting some time in, though! 💜 2mo
