Tudor‘s latest is a bit of a departure, mingling a traditional #SerialKillerThriller with a #vampire story but it really works—& leaves a set-up for a sequel! Barbara Atkins works for the FBI devoted to vampyr killings & is sent to the remote ex-mining town of Deadhart, AK where history seems to be repeating itself after a teenager seems to be the victim of a vampyr. The isolated community holds secrets, & despite slow pacing, finishes strong!

A quick and rather straightforward #SerialKillerThriller set in a northern and rather remote Chinese town. I appreciated the society comments and differences in how the Party, the legal system and police force operates more than the actual mystery itself (though I suppose it is rather satisfying to be proven right on identifying the killer!). The romance makes feel like the start of a series and I would be interested in seeing what‘s next!

This one has been on my TBR shelf for quite a while- and I‘m glad I finally picked it up! It‘s perfect for this time of year- a #Gory #SerialKillerThriller for sure- with some surprising moments of dark humor thrown in! I thoroughly enjoyed it!! #BlackCatChallenge
