One Hundred Flowers | Georgia O'Keeffe

I wasn‘t expecting the miniature version of 100 Flowers to be quite this miniature, but ever since I discovered miniature versions of coffee table art books I‘ve been looking for (used if possible) ones to look at in bed when I‘m too sick to read or watch TV, so maybe a truly tiny one is actually just what I needed. I can keep it by my bed right within reach. #theuniversealwaysknowsbest

#HYGGEHOURREADATHON 📗💚

It‘s dark and rainy here today equals nice cozy reading weather that probably requires tea not coffee 📗💚🍵🫖

I‘m looking forward to take time and just be with a book!!
Happy Sunday 💚📗💚

Sace Oh I‘m in! This would be the perfect activity prior to bedtime and excellent energy for the night before the workweek starts. 1mo

In Vermont we are still buzzing from this event. The total eclipse was so beyond anything I could have imagined. The cold, the darkness, the stars, the return of light. Strangers embracing strangers. Grandchildren running wild in the darkness and screaming that it was the best day of their lives. It happened in my backyard and it was sunny (unheard of!) I see why people chase this experience. It has affected me deeply. 💕💕

Bookwormjillk That‘s great! We were only at about 85% here but I loved that for about a half hour everyone just stopped and observed nature. 2mo
Suet624 @Bookwormjillk so true. 2mo
Aims42 I saw it from my backyard by myself and I think being with a crowd would make it infinitely more exciting 😁 It was cool, but being with others would‘ve made it even better 2mo

squirrelbrain Sounds like a wonderful experience! 2mo
kspenmoll It must have been gorgeous in the snow. I stayed home with the cats while F& R went to my brother‘s in VT- they traveled to Shelburne Museum where they had spots for the day. They returned, astonished, dazzled,Awestruck, with this universal & community experience. 2mo

Leftcoastzen I was thinking you would be in a good spot for it!Yay! 2mo
Suet624 @Aims42 It's funny because I couldn't tell if my experience would have been even better if I were by myself :) 2mo
Suet624 @squirrelbrain It truly was. I'll never forget how it felt, that's for sure. 2mo
quietjenn I very much relate, although I saw it in Ohio. Kinda want to become one of those eclipse chasers now. Just phenomenal in so many ways 2mo
Reggie Very cool, Sue! 2mo
Suet624 @quietjenn My family and I all agreed that we could see why so many people chase the totality of the eclipse. There's nothing like it. 2mo
Suet624 @Reggie It's truly a once in a lifetime event. I hope you can experience it sometime. 2mo
Hamlet I was in a place to see the total eclipse as well. Amazing! I‘m so glad you experienced it. (I was lucky enough to see totality in 2017 too when I was hiking the PCT.) 3w
Suet624 @Hamlet oh boy! You experienced it twice! What a blessing! 💕 (edited) 3w

My cards are going out a little late, but should arrive before the end of the month. Seems apropos considering the sudden return to chilly temps and the occasional snow squall! I hope everyone loves the poems I selected as much as I do!! To me, spring conjures images of all the creatures peeking from their burrows and dens and snug hidey-holes! Happy Spring!! 🌸🌈🌦️🌿🐿️🐇🦡🦔

Today‘s scores from the Little Free Library on the way to my 3 hrs of ballet. It‘s going to be a lovely day. It‘s warm already. On my walk home I‘ll visit another book swap. Then I have nothing to do for the rest of the weekend but I will grab a chai, go to the beach, drink champagne in my pjs and cook up a storm ready for more work lunches and ballet dinners. I suppose I best do a bit of housework too 😢 eg change the sheets.

The Monet exhibit was wonderful!

Bookwormjillk Was it the one where they project it all around the room? 3mo
Susanita @Bookwormjillk Yes! It‘s at the same place that had the Van Gogh exhibit earlier. 3mo
Bookwormjillk @Susanita I saw that in Asheville and loved it. Such a different experience. 3mo

Pickpick

This did a great job of showing the ways Van Gogh and Gauguin were able to inspire, influence, learn from, teach, and compete with each other during the 9 weeks they lived together, and how it changed and informed each of their work during that period and also going forward. This interplay between artists is something I‘ve always been fascinated by, so I loved reading about this! BUT I found the writing style challenging. 👇🏼

IndoorDame It seemed at times to be narrative nonfiction, and at times to be academic writing without clear transitions between them. This made it hard for me to follow some of the more biographical sections, especially the last few chapters where he traces Vincent‘s spiral into cycles of mania and depression. I think I‘d grab another book if I wanted to read more in depth about his self mutilation and his illness. #bookspin 3mo
