Such twists and turns! I loved this so much! It‘s a must read!

This was short and fun Christmas mystery, but I admit at times I found it to be a little convoluted, perhaps as a result of the novella format and lots of characters. It is told in the author's usual style where he leaves clues and talks to the reader thereby breaking the fourth wall. I enjoyed the Australian setting, the insights into the world of magic and the clever plotting. Thanks to Edelweiss+ for the digital ARC. 3.5/5 stars!

There weren't many characters and that left the amount of suspects very low. Characters could have been more fleshed out - then it would have been more surprising to get to know about things someone had done or was doing. Like this you weren't attached to them and revelations didn't feel that shocking.

I loved the atmosphere! I always love thrillers with isolated setting and this wasn't an exception. And the hotel was super creepy xD

OK, I am going to have to Google the ending on this one because my husband kept talking to me while I was trying to read the last part of the book & I feel like I completely missed something. Book was just ok to me. I am over the people trapped on an island with a murder, but this one was a little different & did a little more character building than focus on the murder but still the ending is something that I gotta read up more on to understand.

I had to start this book a few times to get into it and I‘m glad I did. It was a different approach and I enjoyed the story. A murder mystery of sorts with the narrator being one of the main characters. Worth a read.

I really liked the first two books in this series, but this one was so over the top nudge-nudge wink-wink from the start that I quickly lost interest. By the end I really didn‘t care. Here‘s hoping the next one is back up to the standard of the series.

Finished this over the weekend (before the accident) but haven‘t had a chance to post until now. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! And it wasn‘t what I was expecting, but it was a wild and tense ride.
