Quite a sweet tale about a very clever cat called James and his friends. He sniffs out forgeries, apprehends jewel thieves and investigates crimes. James likes a tot of whisky and has a taste for finer foods. I enjoyed joining him on his adventures. 3⭐️

Word of the month: #reflect
A moment of reflection in Flat Cat by Tara Lazar. When the illustration conveys meaning without words so succinctly, what is that called?

Ruthiella A “pictograph” maybe? (edited) 2mo
mandarchy @Ruthiella I'm not sure that describes how the images convey the same meaning, I think it needs to be more specific, but not too simple. 2mo
mandarchy I think I found something close: image conventions. Illustrators are using standard expressions to convey meaning from which we infer more information. 🤯 2mo

In this delightful collection, Hall presents two distinct voices: one from a dog and the other from a cat. The poems capture their personalities and their contrasting perspectives on life, making this a fun read for children.

The most adorable alphabet game ever.
Finding out the artist used Photoshop to do these drawings digitally was surprising because they've got such a lovely detailed coloured pencil texture to them. A charming and silly time.
