What a wonderful novel by an accomplished writer. A family story with a controling religious patriarch, his abused family and the freedom found with their “pagan” relatives. I loved the writing which is sensitive and conveys the inner conflict of the daughter and shows the abuse of others through her eyes and filter and the love she still holds for her abusive father. Such a quiet novel of a family its joys and sorrows. 4 1/2⭐️

Booksnchill @daena it is, it is February. I am listening to it at 1.5 speed on Hoopla app and it is great- the narrator is very slow so that is working for me! I am 3 hour in and it is a 7ish hour book- good so far! 7y

The Strange Library | Haruki Murakami

Murakami is on my list for 2018. At the recommendation of Russell at #InkandPaperBlog I grabbed this very short novella from #Overdrive and read it this afternoon. This is an illustrated tale about a young boy going to a library where he encounters an evil man, a sheep man and a lovely young girl who may or may not be his sparrow. Fairytale-like and dream-like, I don‘t really know what it was about but I enjoyed it. 94 pages with illustrations.

Booksnchill @Jess_Read_This in getting ready for 2018 I found Bookoblivion.com and they have Murakami info there. The recommendation is to start with this one below. That I have ready to tee up for 2018 this was just a toe dip in the water!
