One of the taglines of this book (on the second cover) is “Your life can change in a heartbeat...” & with the story of Vivi who suffers a heart attack on her 27th birthday, monitoring her #heartbeat becomes a part of her life as her heart condition puts her on the transplant list. This book (a recent book tour review for me) makes important points about organ donation & although not maudlin, definitely requires a few tissues. 😥

I‘m hopelessly behind on reviews but this one fits the bill for the #lilithjuly prompt #heartbeat so here we are.

Michelle Young is mother to a toddler and 20 weeks pregnant when she is found brutally murdered. Her husband was away on a business trip, so 2 year old Cassidy was alone for hours, walking thru the crime scene, before an aunt came by.

Husband returned home straight away but from the start he refused to talk to investigators. 🧐🤔

Wonderful book about Richard 1. Vying with Henry V for the all English King title. Once King he actually only spent about 6 months in the country. Fascinating character, brilliant read 👍🏻

This novel is so unique.... Some of the longest sentences of any book I've ever read, but WOW are those sentences gorgeous.
The MC is an actual physical heart of a young surfer, his organ treated as the 'protagonist' of the story. As we see his life and the life of those around him destroyed, we see his heart bring life to another. This beautifully translated story is about the nature of grief and the human capacity to love.

I fully admit my #heartbeat raced a bit while reading this nonfiction look at Ted Bundy. If you didn‘t realize it, Ann Rule knew Bundy, so her insights into her personal relationship with him are documented here. #LilithJuly
