Louise Erdrich broke my heart about four times in this book and she started right in the first chapter. It was my first time reading her work and I loved it. A family saga of the Kashpaws and Lamartines most of the time but with each chapter almost a short story from a different person‘s perspective. The writing is phenomenal 😍

I'm listening to the audio version of this wonderful debut memoir and Jahren's voice sounds infused with #heartache, as if it's always on the verge of breaking. In one great section, she describes writing a college English thesis where she analyzed uses of the word 'heart' in David Copperfield. Then in describing a particularly stressful job at a hospital, she quotes Copperfield-heart quotes at the perfect moments ❤️💔 #fiercefeb @batsy @Cinfhen

I absolutely adore this book. I read it years and years ago and it has stayed with me. Four lives come together in India during the 1970s. Powerful and emotional. It was recommended to me by my baba. #goodmorningheartache #throwbackthursday #fiercefeb

Cinfhen I tried it for bookclub years ago but I couldn‘t finish on time and I never picked it back up. I know the bookclub ladies loved it!!! It‘s on the #1001Books list so maybe I‘ll reread/finish 7y

This book that I reviewed a few years ago had me ugly-crying & still makes me a bit choked up thinking about it. A beautiful story that surprises & shows the power of love, loss & healing.??

Tell the Wolves I'm Home: A Novel | Carol Rifka Brunt

I'm always trying to get people to read this book. It's a poignant, bittersweet story of a girl coming to terms with the loss of a favorite uncle in the late 80s. It's a really beautiful story and definitely a tear-jerker. 😢❤

TrishB @Oryx Assassin‘s Apprentice is the first of the Farseer Trilogy which is the beginning of the Fitz and the Fool story. I hope when you get to them you love them as much as I do! 7y
