Even though there are only 2 books, they‘re hardcover and they would only fit in my carry-on so I still feel this fits the definition of “haul.” 😅
I probably wouldn‘t use this within the school, just because it is a little longer of a story and there is not much of a plot, I feel like the students would enjoy reading it bu maybe independently.
so-soThe Real Story of Stone Soup by Ying Chang Compestine published in 2007 is a story that talks about the folktale about stone soup. This story tells what the true story is. Thorough this story, 3 boys go on a day fishing, when it is time for lunch they have to figure out how to cook without the pot and they make a soup from the ground. The three boys put rocks in their soup and the older man questioned it but discovered how delicious it was.
pickThis is a sequel to The River although I feel like it works as a stand alone as well. Overall I enjoyed it but will admit the build up was paced nicely but the ending felt rushed. I don‘t care for it as much as I did The River but I still found it immensely enjoyable.
pickThe Wakefield family takes a family vacation at the lake. Jess is horrified at the idea of fishing and hangs out with Jilly, a girl their age staying in the cabin next door. After 2 days of hanging out with this insufferable girl, fishing sounds more & more appealing. She finally goes out on the boat on the last day of vacation & catches the biggest fish, bigger than anyone else has caught all weekend. So cute! 4⭐️
