pickThis second volume of East of West doesn't "Wow!" me as much as the first volume, but the quality of the story, world, and art remains excellent. You can feel the story building to something epic, but this volume doesn't provide that payoff. The best part of this volume is Death's encounter with the Oracle. Nick Dragotta's rendering of her makes her a truly twisted creation. I hope future volumes will show her backstory in greater detail.
For the first time, I'm struck by the design of the triangle. Is it made from four triangles to symbolize the Four Horsemen? And does that make the center triangle Death, the one going against the other three?
