This was cute but not memorable. It felt superficial, lacking substance. The banter was sometimes entertaining but mostly useless. A more complex story would have made it more enjoyable. The author did a good job of making the main character unlikable. I kept waiting for the build up to a pivotal moment, but neither ever came.

I‘ve decided to read some of the classics, last night I ordered some cheap 2nd hand Sylvia Plath and Oscar Wilde. And today I found this gem in the box for free! Such a kind gesture giving away free books ❤️

Scochrane26 @coffeewithbooks I started making an effort to read more classics in the last few years. There‘s some I haven‘t liked at all, but sometimes I‘ll be surprised how much I like one (Frankenstein, Dracula). 5y

tpixie @coffeewithbooks I think penguin classics have their own annotations so you could have double the annotations! I agree with @marleed on both counts. There are tons of references/ spin off movies of o& p & Sense & Sensibility that makes reading these extra meaningful. I just read my cousin Rachel and I also enjoyed Rebecca. Also just finished reading Moby Dick and I‘d have to say I‘d read the other four books 1st! 💙 5y

This novel was a joy to read, literary genius. The writing style flows effortlessly taking the reader on a descriptive pony ride. I had to get use to it at first then couldn't put the book down.
