I'm getting into the Christmas spirit (BTW, where's the snow Colorado? No snow since April is unacceptable!) so I'm going to take a break from my other reading and dip into something Christmasy. I haven't chosen which one yet, but it will definitely be set in a snowy location!

I was attending a Christening when one of the older kids started telling me about this book and how she had a tough time with it because it was very scary. There was a point where I thought she had dreamt some parts because they seemed too scary for a kids book, a kid tied up on a chair and I demon dentist pulling all his teeth for example. By coincidence we had to pick a scary book for a book club this month, and we went with this one. ⬇️⬇️

nanuska_153 Turns out it wasn't the kid's imagination after all, the scary things that she told me about happened in this book. I'd remember it for the rest of my life with fear if I had read it as a kid. I did enjoy it as an adult, it's a bit gross at parts, but it's funny. David Walliams is a bit like today's Roald Dahl. I'd definitely recommend it for a kid that likes horror stories 5d

I found this book on Pango for $1 plus shipping! Getting it for my youngest, it‘s so cute! I love teaching children to be thankful for the small things in life. As I get older, it‘s really some of the little things that bring me the most joy.
