This book was just as cute as the first one!

I read the first Winnie the Pooh book 2 years ago and was obsessed. I am so glad I got around to reading the sequel. It had all the charm of its predecessor. Pooh and all his friends were (still) so adorable. In this story, we are finally introduced to Tigger. Tigger was an absolute delight.

Ahh, this one I definitely remembered! I think I must've been fonder of the beginning than the end (I used to reread books only for as long as they most pleased me, and then wander off) because I remember the beginning very vividly, but it starts fading out around when Thingummy and Bob appear.

I appreciate Moominmamma so much more than I used to.

It's a cute color book. It's hard to see, but the authors' names are in pink. #ISpyBingoJune @TheAromaofBooks

I either never read this one or forgot most of the story, or maybe it's shorter in the comic strip versions? It's been so long. The beginning and ending seemed familiar.

I really love Moominmamma just relentlessly adopting anyone who needs a mother.

Thanks to @Monalyisha talking about the Moomin books, I decided to go and read them! And turns out that though I only remembered for sure reading Moominland Midwinter, I'm pretty sure I had remembered this one. It doesn't entirely fit what I remember about the series; I think I saw someone else mentioning that it doesn't quite fit, so I guess we'll see. It's charming all the same.

I didn‘t count these in my midyear ratings because they feel incomparable. But I‘m deeply in love and so glad I finally checked them out! They‘ll be in the upper echelon of my 2025 favorites, for sure.

CBee What order did you read them in? I found an article that actually says reading them out of order is best. I can‘t seem to find The Great Flood though 🤷‍♀️😔 2w
monalyisha @CBee I haven‘t read them all but I started with Midwinter! 2w
monalyisha @CBee If, in my reading, I come to feel as though I‘ve made a grave misstep, I‘ll let you know. 😅 2w

CBee @monalyisha sounds good! I started with Moominsummer Madness. Here‘s the article I mentioned: https://www.fatherly.com/entertainment/moomin-books-reading-order 2w
willaful @CBee I've never seen that one either.

IIRC, the chronology is kind of odd. I started with Midwinter too and it was a great choice for me as a child

shanaqui I think I remember just reading Moominland Midwinter when I was a kid, you tempt me to get all of them and read them all! 2w
CBee @willaful it‘s much harder to find than the others! 🤷‍♀️ 2w
quietlycuriouskate I have so much love for these books! 🥰 2w

I saw this story today on Facebook when I was scrolling through my newsfeed and it inspired today‘s haiku.

For June‘s #BookishMonopoly, I landed on “Literary Classic” and couldn‘t decide which one of these to choose. Several of you recommended one or the other, so I decided to read both! Winnie is a true classic treasure that I adored. 🥰 And Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, though a bit slow, still gave me the heebie-jeebies.😬
@AkashaVampie

PurpleyPumpkin Both are great classics in ENTIRELY different ways!😅 2w
MemoirsForMe @PurpleyPumpkin I went from warm and fuzzy to creepy town! 🤣 But I‘m glad to finally check these off my list. Hope you‘re having a great summer so far! It‘s finally warming up here. 2w
PurpleyPumpkin I bet! These are total opposites and both are very good. It was super hot here at the beginning of this week. But now we‘re back to cooler temps. I‘m just hoping those 3 days weren‘t our entire summer!😅 Glad it‘s warming up in your area.☀️ 2w

MemoirsForMe @PurpleyPumpkin Glad your heat wave is over. Hope you get a little summer weather. We‘re now in June gloom, but the sun is peeking out more each day. I‘m still behind on my letters and slowly catching up. 🤷🏻‍♀️📝 (edited) 2w
AkashaVampie Yay... I still need to listen to Jekyll & Hyde 2w
MemoirsForMe @AkashaVampie It was still a spooky read, even after seeing so many movie adaptations. 2w
