Happy! | Pharrell Williams
Mehso-so

3 ⭐ It‘s hard to call this a celebrity author or a celebrity picture because it‘s the song by a singer put in picture of a format. It‘s fine. The song was a hit for multiple years with the Happy Feet movie and yes this book was checked out like crazy. Is there still place for it? Yes… but I have a feeling this is one that when Library copies fall apart, they will not be replaced. I do like that they use real pictures in the book that are set to a

LibrarianRyan theme, and it all goes well together. And I think my favorite thing of this book is the letter from Pharrell to the kids in the back. I think Pharrell should try to really write a picture book instead of just putting his songs in page format.

Ruthiella I didn‘t like Housekeeping either. I‘m immune to Marilyn Robinson! 😂 2d
willaful Have you seen the movie? It's one of those rare better-than-the-book situations, though I also love the book. 1d

A little #Laughter quote from the amazing Maya Angelou.

"My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return." ???

Absolutely love this series! This time Hilda joins the scouts and is distracted by little nissi (elves) that are getting kicked out of their houses. Also there is a big scary black hound terrorizing the neighborhood. Wonderful graphics, funny story and just love Hilda all around.

Snow Day | Richard Curtis

Snow day! May not seem like a big deal for people in the North, but we don't get this much snow in Houston....like ever. It is quite peaceful to sit here with my book and coffee and watch the giant flakes fall from the sky

AmyG Wow! It does look pretty. 2w

Pickpick

Jace & I read these for #foodandlit this month. Strega Nona is set in Italy for #Jubilee - and the others are all set in The Netherlands. Strega Nona was very cute, and I also really liked The Hero of Little Street, which has no words but is quite the adventure when a little boy gets sucked into a 17th century painting in Holland. 🇮🇹🇳🇱

Snow Day | Richard Curtis

Our first snow day of the school year…and it kinda sucks because it‘s also the first day of assessment week…which means everything pushes ahead a day. 🤪 Still, I am hoping to get a pile of marking done and maybe finish my current read and make some cupcakes to bring to the kids tomorrow. I have already shovelled, but will have to go back out once the plow has come along.

Deblovestoread So lovely! It‘s currently 28° here. I feel like if it‘s going to be this cold there should be snow on the ground. The good news is the sun is shining instead. 2w
