The story of a 10yr old at the very start of her transition. It points out that your readiest allies often come in the unlikeliest of people, but that even when those closest to you seem to be turning away it‘s worth giving them another chance because they may surprise you. #BBRCMiddleGradeBannedorChallenged #LGBTQBookBingo2022DifferentExperiences @LibrarianRyan @Kenyazero
LibrarianRyan I absolutely LOVE THIS BOOK. I also really love how the author apologized for the title and asked libraries to rename it Melissa or Melissa's Story. If you buy a new copy now the title is changed. But this book is so innocent. It's not in your face, it's not even out loud and proud. It's Melissa finding herself in George's body. I LOVED IT. 2y
IndoorDame @LibrarianRyan yes, I think I‘ve seen copies with the revised title. That makes me really happy too! 2y
