Yes I've started another series, thanks to @EadieB ! Ben Hope is definitely a different character, a loner and he rescues kidnapped children for a living. This book tells a history of alchemy, and the Cathars(who were exterminated by Pope Innocent). Hes recruited by a wealthy man to find the elixir of youth to save his granddaughter. The capers that ensue are wild and crazy. Definitely a book that one has to breathe through...⬇️

Inspector McLean number 4
This was the best one yet of this series. Thank you @EadieB for turning me on to this. And maybe you too @Andrew65 ? A body is found in the gorge, completely covered with fresh tattoos. A rich industrialist kills his family and himself. McLean is assigned the investigation, so he can take the fall, of course. The end of this book had me laughing, but the rest of it certainly didn't. What a book.⬇️

Wesley Peterson number 7. A skeleton is found in a hidden room. And a body is found in the water, pushed or jumped off a cliff. Wesley has 2 cases to consider, along with all the usual archaeological stuff. Another interesting book in the series

Book 2 of the Inspector McLean series
McLean is very different from other cops. Copycat murders are happening that mimic the Christmas Killer from book 1 that died a month ago in jail. There are unexplained fires burning down old factories. McLean butts heads with his superior at every turn. Father Anton visits McLean and tells him the book is causing the deaths and McLean has to destroy it. ⬇️

I've enjoyed every book be Donlea. This is no exception. Livia's sister disappeared over a year ago, while Megan, the girl who disappeared the same night was found alive. Wesley Peterson number 5. Eastacres estate is being rehabilitated and old bones are found. A murder is committed in a caravan park. Who is the victim? These two story lines interweave in this intriguing story. I enjoy the intertwining of the ancient story with the current day

Book 3 of the Wesley Peterson series. I'm enjoying this series more with every book. A woman is found hung on a tree in the church yard. Was is suicide or murder. As the archaeologists uncover more at the site, there seems to be a connection with this 'hanging tree'. I like the how the chapters start with blurbs written centuries before. The blend of archeology and mystery is well done.
