Soubhiville @Cinfhen Slow Regard is a novelette about one of the characters from The Kingkiller Chronicles. It‘s not really part of the series, but it‘s not likely to appeal if you haven‘t read The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man‘s Fear. 5y

So the library would only let me go back two years in checkouts 👎🏻👎🏻, so it only gets five spots, to make an even 20. I listened to so many good ones in 2016 and 2017 that I‘m sorry I don‘t have a record of those.

Megabooks @Scochrane26 This checkout was actually my second time listening to it. It was one of the first fiction audiobooks I really enjoyed. I think a good match between narrator and book is even more important in fiction than nonfiction. 5y

Megabooks @Cinfhen huh? I liked both, but it almost made my nonfiction best of! Honestly most of my favorite audiobooks are done by a professional VO artist. I usually don‘t like ones read by the author. The author-read ones on here like Heavy and Beauty Queens are the exception. 5y

Born a Crime | Trevor Noah

1) HP books are the best audiobooks, but I‘m not sure if I listened to them before or after 2010 & didn‘t want to include re-reads.
2) I forgot about Killers of the Flower Moon & would have replaced When Breath Becomes Air with it on my NF list. On audio, it‘s a jolt when the narrator changes due to his death.
3) I listened to 9/10 of the Heroes of Olympus series, esp on some long trips, so I included it as a series.
4) I like accents. 👇

Scochrane26 No 1 ladies‘ detective agency & The Crazy Rich Asians series both have narrators who do multiple accents. Loved the accents for the others. I liked listening to Carrie Fisher‘s voice (rip) & what she had to say in Shockaholic. And Born a Crime is amazing with Trevor‘s voice. It caused me to start listening to the daily show-I love his accent & ability w/ other languages. And Gabrielle Union had important subjects to think about in her book. @Cinfhen (edited) 5y

I‘m loving these lists, so I‘m adding another #Top10OfTheDecade #AudiobookEdition.

I Loved these on audiobook and enjoyed them, most read by the author, more than I think I ever would have just by reading them.

Sometimes hearing someone tell their story in their own voice, it just so powerful.
